Data we collect

From contact and newsletter forms: name, email, engagement interest, reporting period, and message content. From engagements: contact details of directors, finance staff, and bookkeepers necessary to plan and perform financial auditing work, plus documents you supply for the review.

Purposes and legal bases

We process enquiry data to respond to requests and prepare fee estimates (legitimate interests / pre-contract steps). Engagement data is processed to perform the contracted review and meet professional record-keeping duties (contract and legal obligation).

Retention

Unsuccessful enquiries are retained up to 24 months. Engagement working papers and correspondence are retained for at least seven years, or longer where professional standards or Japanese law require.

Your rights

Subject to applicable Japanese law and professional confidentiality, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may lodge a complaint with the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan.

International transfers

If you or a parent company are located outside Japan, we may transfer contact and engagement correspondence as needed to complete the review. Transfers are limited to named recipients in the engagement letter and protected by confidentiality undertakings.
